Totally under my radar. Looks like its been released for sometime.
Robot figures are probably dear to my heart. I think its something I grew up with.
Mecha Godzilla happens to be one of those things I grew up with.
This is the rendition of the 1974 Mecha Godzilla
But clearly this is one remote control robot that beats anything I've seen hands down.
It's only avaiable in japan (with a hefty price tag)
here's a actual commercial for it

Nerf herders + Olivia Munn
saw this over at Kotaku.
pretty catchy. I havn't herd Nerf Herders do anything new in a while.
Doesn't hurt that Olivia Munn is in it.
totally targeting the gamers.

Joust WIP 3
Just a bit of a update.
I should have posted this on the weekend. I've been swamped.
But here's what I done for the next part of the elements. On my list to do is highlights, colour and then putting the two elements together in a piece and background to tie it all together. I'll be writing a more thorough step by step. wish I had more time to go through everything now.
The line drawing

Mid tones

Darker tones

The next is highlights and colours

Dungeon and Dragons : part 1
I did some work for Wizard of the West Coast, via Empty room studio.
I've been pretty busy this month on some more work with them.
But I thought I would post what I did for them last month

Having some time away from the piece.. and picking up some new approaches and learning as you go along the way. I thought I would come back to this piece and update it for portfolio.

TheLegend of Ninja Cowboy Bear: Limited on Sale and Signed.
Got a bit of this info to share.
For a short summary for those who have not herd the new of this book.
My Hilary and his friend Dave, had created a childrens book late last year.
It was so well recieved it was picked up by Kid's Can press. (a great success story as well).
so I'm just excited to pass the news below from my friend Hil. (buy it now! First printing LImited and Signed!)

A quick update to our Ninja Cowboy Bear subscribers.
As some of you may already know, Kids Can Press has licenced our book and will be promoting it as part of their new fall series. http://www.kidscanpress.com/Canada/The-Legend-of-Ninja-Cowboy-Bear-P5900.aspx
This is great news for us because it means that "The legend of Ninja Cowboy Bear" will be in your local bookstore this fall.
However, this also means that there are now only a dwindling number of the self-published, first editions remaining. No more will be printed! So, for a limited time, we're offering signed copies of the book (first edition) along with a postcard and a high quality vinyl sticker, for the sale price of $12 CAD.
For more information see http://www.ninja-cowboy-bear.com/book/buy.php
Thanks for your support!

Swine Flu: Fashionable Surgical masks
Thankfully Toronto hasn't seen the swine flu yet. But I was thinking if I had to wear one... I would paint on a piggy snout like this.
(modified I-G@l piece I did a while ago)

Jonny Quest Documentary
I kind of stumbled onto this documentary trying to find the sound track of Jonny Quest
I'm shocked that this documentary was never released for dvd or doesn't have any kind of publisher behind this. It produced by fans, but a very professional and detailed documentary on Jonny Quest.
Everything from concepts, animation, music, layouts, writing. It covers everything.
This should documentary came out with the dvd series
The creators of this documentary have been very free in sharing their hard work.
You can find it to download here
or if you like you can watch it ready to watch on youtube Documentary starts at "quest 1". But the begining of the playlist is fun to watch too.
here's small snipit from the documentary about the music

TCAF +mothers day
I'm so worn out by yesterday.
I went to TCAF http://www.torontocomics.com/tcaf/.
I managed to swindle a spot with my friend Hilary Leung and partner in crime David Bruins.
The Legend of Ninja, Cowboy, Bear. Seeing the kids reaction of the kids was a riot. There were so many people.
I managed to check out some of the floor.
My friend was waiting in like to get a sweet portrait done by joe bluhm .
While just hanging out in line my friend was talking to none other then Kagan McLeod. He was really cool manged to talk to him for a while. His website is SWEET! Not only is his artwork brilliant. Is knowledge of old school kungfu is unbelievable. Plus a added bonus... the Sound on the website will keep you entertained for hours.
I manage to catch up with Bobby Chiu for a little bit. Man is always hard at work.. he doesn't seem to stop working!
I rant into my friend Eric Kim Another hard working guy. It was nice to catchup with him. He's been a very elusive fella like big foot. I always hear how Eric is doing from small circles.
unfortunately I had to rush out for mother's day so I didn't get a chance to see as much as I wanted. I did manage to catch Brian Lee O'Malley of Scott Pilgrim comic soon to be movie! The long line unfortunately didn't give me mucha chance to meet him in person.
Last stop before running home.
Derek Kirk Kim I didn't get a chance to talk to him much.. but totally envious of his work.. The guy can draw and tell a story.
got his sig and a doodle on his books!

And to top of the evening I went to my uncle and aunt's place.
Where his family shared a lot of laughs and good food. Vanessa, Tiffany, "B" and May, make the best food!!!!. I laughed as much as I ate last nite...
I'm still so tired.

I did a interview a few weeks back with Studio Aiko.
A very tallented illustrator/designer that I've followed from Mojizu.
you can find my interview here http://www.studioaiko.com/interview_VincChui.html
on a side note I saw this on the ToysRevil website. A ad for gloomy bears.
