A little something retroish for halloween. I really love those old school posters. I finished this weeks ago.. but held off on posting this. The lighting was fun to try out.
I had this idea of mashing up a few costumes together.. that I couldn't get out of my head till I scribbled it down. kind of a best of the "bargain bin of costumes"
2 Game of Death (yes I know its from Kill Bill too.. but in Kill Bill did it in homage to Bruce Lee's game of death. I'll be really upset if you've never herd of it!
Yellow Chucks are from
(thats where the foot print comes from! If there's someone out there that can make a shirt with a yellow stripes on the side and a Giant foot on the front.. I would be sold on getting that!)
It's almost Halloween. Probably my favorite theme to draw. As a warm up... I thought I would do a exercise in lighting. Do something that's simple (rather then full on paint). But then it kind turned into something I could animate. Mind you I would never call myself a animator. I tried it.. and I have no sense of timing. But I took a shot and here's what I got.
Well the news of Ubisoft coming to Toronto is old news right now. But it's interesting topic that I've had with friends in and out of the gaming industry.
On the news it seems very focused on Ubisoft alone. but I'm more interested what will happen because of Ubisoft's move here. Will more larger gaming companies come to Toronto? I just hope with Ubisoft coming into the picture, it will give that Fire Toronto needs to have a more healthy Gaming Development Industry. (more companies to start here, and business opportunities etc).
Well anyways the article below explains it way better then I could sum it up.
Just today, I've been warmly welcomed to a collective called Sketch Motel. Sketch Motel isn't a art rep, but a very cool group of illustrators. I feel very lucky to be part of collective of such tallented people.
Atom Eve from INvincible. (one of the best comics out there... another favorite of mine Walking Dead and Y the lastman).
Franchesco last month talked to me about doing a collab(to colour his fantastic line work) All I can tell you I was felt so honoured and freaked out about it (well I love Franchesco's art.. so I was nervous as heck).
But last month I was swamped with work and wasn't able to touch it until yesterday.
Just a little back story. I first layed eyes on Franchesco's art on She-Dragon special by Image comics. I think this might have been in 06 or 05. After buying the comic, I jumped on my computer to find out who this guy was cause I wanted to see more of this fantastic work! I found nothing... until 09, I had found him on DA.
After finding him and more of his work... I also found out how cool he is after sending a couple of message and notes.
But I'd like to Thank Franchesco for asking me to colour his work... It was a thrill!
